A mixed race girl in a Santa hat dances next to a Christmas tree. Surrounded by decorations and presents.

Luna has truly earned her place as a favourite picture book character. This time she’s flinging herself in to all the joys and all of the spirit of Christmas.

Luna can’t get enough of Christmas. Sometimes she gets to celebrate at Mum’s and sometimes at Dad’s and, either way, she gets double of everything- Christmas trees, advent calendars and roast dinners. This year will be a little different though, because  Luna is helping Mum to do her local food bank deliveries. First off: the McKenzies in their end of terrace with their bouncy dog. Next: the Sandhus in their 12th floor tower block flat (the lifts are out of order!) and just in time for the carollers. Next: Old Ms Pothers in her brick house outside of town who, best of all, has a Christmas Story to share with Luna. Finally, it’s off to Dad's for a special Christmas Eve. The last spread shows a local community gathered together in the town hall for a Christmas feast complete with a visit from Santa!

As warm and cosy as a fireplace hearth and alight with the true meaning of Christmas. Told by a former Children's Laureate with an authenticity which steers clear of being saccharine or sentimental. Includes a clever book in a book (the story Ms Pother reads out).

‘I love this story. Diversity of families, family structure, economic status and the idea that joy/happiness can be found anywhere’ (Edyta, Primary Teacher, Letterbox Library Reviewer). ‘So lovely. Helps normalise families which split celebrations. I like the emphasis on kindness and home made present’ (Deborah, Lecturer in EY Education, Letterbox Library reviewer). [PoC protagonist; mixed race family- Black dad/white mum]. Age 4-7, Hardback 27pp
