A selection of chapter books for children of different reading abilities. In this book pack, you’ll find (mostly) chapter books in which the protagonists burst out of, jump over and simply refuse to be limited by gender stereotypes and conventions. Sometimes protagonists will take on or protest against sexism directly. Other times they simply role model lives unconstrained by traditional ideas about gender. Where possible, we also include some books where characters don’t relate to gendered pronouns or where they identify as non binary.
